Silence
05:41
|
|||
Look at it
Like a golden loom
Weaving
A cloth that floats like silk
Hanging there in bloom
Name it what you will
Name it what you will
There is a silence in this room
It’s making everyone uncomfortable
Hatched from a fold
Heavy and old
Rolled in the dent amidst us all
Chips like the stone off the surface
Sits like a dog on a fence
Eyes swept with rigor, more dissent
Marvelous innocence
Silence
The excess air is straining the walls
Spread-eagle thoughts plummet from trees like carnivores
Separations dome where even echoes travel alone
Dreams that are feeding off night
Like a flickering candlelight
Here I sit and watch its slow decline
Into
Silence

Sally Ran
04:21
|
|||
Sally ran with the child
Sally ran for miles
Through the towns and the capes
Oh Sally ran away
She sees the boats boast in the morning hours
And smells the coals that they devour
Inking with the black of nights
Her fortune and the morning skies
Sally time will linger on
It is just a part of you
You can’t let go
Sally ran with the night
She was only a child
Oh she ran with the groves
That frame her world in scope
It’s just the first step you take
A vivid part of you
I am dying to meet you darling
Dreaming alone
Sally time will linger on
It is just a part of you that you can’t let go
Just a part of you

Love Is
04:45
|
|||
Darling I’m hostage
To the red quilted rivers
To your hand that is stronger than mine
Shakes and quivers
All the virgin needs swelter
For the one that is lovingly seeing you
Just as you are
Love is
The sin that we waited for
Run free
Hot naked love is all
Love is
Hanging from the roof of life
Run free
Singing in my arms so bright
Every limb and that powerless hand
Strapped onto the eclipse when it falls I fall
All of the flowers still grow
Towards the light of a face you know
To be turning and spinning around you
When the mind starts to wander
Lying bare and golden with you
In this room
In this constellation
Slipping through the vast and measureless
Fingers of duration
Some days dressed in a heart throb
Some days in a gilded noose
We watch the afternoons roll by
Here in our exile
Darling
Love is
The sin that we waited for
Run free
Hot naked love is all
Love is
Hanging from the roof of life
Run free
Singing in my arms so bright

Black Hair
02:40
|
|||
Black hair in the morning sun
Black in the evening one
Ring down the curtain on me
Mangled stripes of bitumen
With every hour knitted in
Put through the wringer of night
I’ll be so sad to leave
I’ll be so sad to leave
Poured in darkness like a guess
Saturated colorlessness
Onyx in lanes that loom up
With a lead glaze on its sleeve
Forever coming up to me
You said your love is void
Black hair in the morning sun
Black in the evening one
Ring down the curtain on me
Hold it there
Let it linger on my neck
Till its absence seethes the senses
And I will be so sad to leave
I’ll be so sad to leave
I’ll be so sad to leave

In Too Deep
05:27
|
|||
Good god with a thick stroke of the brush
The evening sky gets a crimson blush
I rolled downhill got some time to kill
Whistling with the jingle of the leaves
Like the chord in a though seam my soul was strung
Waiting for a hand that’s skilled and young to make it howl
Make it come undone
I turn my will away from the city core
Trot towards it’s gritty shore
Rattling the freight of park benches
Mistaken for angels
Past the neon cross the neo-lost
Ransack their pockets for a light
Poems recited into earliness
There is a man in horror banging on his chest
Drifting on a floe that’s broken off the rest
And that stroke of paint I was talking about before is
Drying up and getting porous
In too deep
I’m in too deep
And I can’t get out no more
The absurd shines from the lantern
Falling right through to your rivers in turn
All lanterns themselves like a marbled holiday
Collars up to mask the picture underneath
Earthy tones mixed up messily
Loaded on a knive and thrown into the big room
So full of birds and dust in a stunt flying thrust
Fire the big old furnace darling fire till it busts
And the man yes the singerman
Watching from afar is
Nowhere close to where the scar is
In too deep
I’m in too deep
And I can’t get out no more

Wound Wrapped In Song
03:42
|
|||
The wound wrapped in song
Lovers knew it all along
Chances are that they know who she is
The girl’s a tiptoeing villainess
Oh and the fire ladder’s rungs are wet with rain
And its ascent is a bargain
Your hurried feet tread again and again
Onto the ruptures margin
Feeling the narratives of days boiling up in the airways
Tell me to whom do you whisper yours
It is night and it’s stretched like a bed sheet
Over the face of the day
Rolled up trouser legs
Wading through the memories
Riling up the pond to get over to the one
Sink into this mirror-puddle and cool your burning eyes
Once there was space and a soft smiling face
And the jab of breath that would reach me
Now the world has contracted
And her thin leather pants cling to a man, who smudges her make up with his crudeness
Feeling the narratives of days boiling up in the airways
Tell me to whom do you whisper yours
It is night and it’s stretched like a bed sheet
Over the face of the day

Systems
04:05
|
|||
Skies are alit
A jittery grid
That leans in pale grey
Onto towering pillars
Trying to build
A cover for wilt
So dreams reverberate
Between the windows held ajar by
Arduous arms
The peccable ones
They are crowbars in the sleet
They are levers of defeat
Noisy with light
So goes the night
They are crowbars in the sleet
They are crowbars in the sleet
The prayers that flee
Up vertically
They are levers of defeat
They are levers of defeat

I Wonder Why
03:40
|
|||
I wonder why
You went away
You took the spring with you when you said you had packed your bags
And will not stay
Anymore
A common lie
One that would safe two souls from strife
Two souls in the hard light
Your eyes gave away the old shelter that the night has inscribed
Your heart’s high priced
And when I take the time to mourn and I do
I see women with their faces wrapped in shades like you
Like you
So I wonder why
You went away
And hauled off the features of the land that you unveiled
To my young eyes
These sorry eyes
All night when the tide rolls in
And I think of you
And my heart falls like the prey
I cannot say
I cannot lie
Oh these feeding fangs won’t let go of me
And your eyes are sighs
And when I take the time to mourn and you know that I do
I see women with their faces wrapped in shades like you
Just like the way you do
Your hands still on the pillows and the lanes
The covers and the sheets
They memorized your whorls
Oh god knows they look just like you
Just like you do

The Rain
03:38
|
|||
Your loving like the raindrops
That cover everything
Made kisses rain like feverish sin
Onto the barren longing of my lips dear
And weightless like the raindrops
Carried away with the wind
Melt into thin air
Food for the clouds
With which we sway
To the dull pounding of the rain
Your loving like the raindrops caused
A sweeping muddy deluge force
That plowed through every ill-lit bar
That left their longing door ajar
But in the light of unspent days
When spring has come and come to stay
And after all the roaming’s done
And solitude has parched the land
I’m sure that I shall find someone
Who will also crave the rain again

To Be Someone Else
07:14
|
|||
Sometimes I don’t feel like myself
Sometimes I feel like someone else
Sometimes I don’t feel like myself
Sometimes I feel the need to be someone else
All this time to understand
The conditions of strangers
And now I’m one of them
One of them
I’m a stranger in this land
Like a beetle on your hand
I am a thief
Of scope
And the hopeless roots of rose
Sink down what time had chosen to decay
For you
All this time to understand
The conditions of strangers
And now I’m one of them
All this time invested in
To see if wee share equal sins
And I know it now
Stranger in this land
I’m fool that’s dancing strangely on your hand
A dirty thief
Of hope
A hopeless man of rose
A thing that time had chosen
For decay
And you
All this time to understand
The conditions of strangers and
Now I’m one of them
All this time invested in
To see if wee share equal sins
And I’m running through this pastel grove
I’m the stranger
